Educannon Consulting is delighted to announce that our longtime friend and colleague Dr. Josh Levisohn will be joining our team effective July 1, 2018.

Joshua Levisohn, Ph.D.

As an accomplished school leader and a seasoned educator, Josh Levisohn provides a rare blend of educational insight, leadership acumen, strategic analysis and operational expertise. Josh is as comfortable with a spreadsheet as he is with a lesson plan and offers the multidisciplinary mastery and creative thinking required to meet the complex challenges facing schools today.  He is a scholar, a listener, a mentor and an innovator who offers the empathy and the passion needed to support and guide both individuals and organizations as they achieve their goals.

A graduate of Maimonides School, Josh’s personal connection to Jewish day schools is life-long.  With 27 years of professional experience in day schools, including the last 12 years as Head of School of Berman Hebrew Academy, Josh’s passion for education and the principles of a growth mindset inform his own practice as well as his coaching and mentoring of others.  During his tenure at Berman, Josh effected transformational changes in STEM education, differentiated instruction, educational support and project-based learning while increasing enrollment and delivering 12 consecutive years of a surplus budget.

Josh’s professional background, along with his Ph.D. in Modern Jewish History from Harvard University, provides him with a unique lens with which to analyze, verify and passionately support the mission of Jewish day schools.

Josh is able to offer consultancy support to schools and not-for-profit agencies in many areas. He is an experienced leadership coach, strategic thinker and planner, and partner in professional development dealing with supervision/evaluation, teaching and learning and Judaic Studies curriculum.  Josh is also able to support schools in transition, particularly in the absence of a head of school or when transitioning to a new head of school, and in other areas of change management.
